Companies formulate mission statements in order to give their work purpose.
It's like giving them a life driving force.
Since they aren't human, they don't have a life driving force, when they are formed they need to have it established. It should reflect the day to day activities that will allow the company to live.
Actually, taking the lead from companies, many individuals now write their own personal mission statements. Whereas company statements deal with the daily functions, personal mission statements tend to be more visionary.
They often answer questions like:
1. What do I want from my life?
Taking as a starting point the idea that the museum like a person requires love and care in order to exist, the artists explore its existential state and moment of in-betweenness towards a new cultural identity through its mission statement and opening a personal reflection on altered states of human consciousness.
