Italian Area started in 2000 as the first online database documenting the Italian artistic scene from the late eighties to the present.

Redesigned in 2013, Italian Area showcases the artists promoted by the most important Italian and foreign organisations, and also gives visibility to the younger generation of artists representing today’s art scene.

This selection is a work in progress and is meant to be constantly updated by the artists invited by a board of critics and curators collaborating with the DOCVA Documentation Center for Visual Arts www.docva.org (Careof e Viafarini) Archive.

Italian Area is a project curated by Viafarini;  contact: archivio@viafarini.org
